Tapped Magazine

Our goal at Novus Literae is to reexamine new media under the lens of art and culture. Tapped Magazine does something similar. Tapped’s focus is finding some of that new media just as it breaks out of obscurity and enters the mainstream.

Tapped hunts for new artists, actors and actresses, models, bands, musicians, directors, writers, and anyone else willing to step out of the ordinary to change the world through self expression. Catching an glimpse of upcoming stars gets you a twofold pay off. First, Tapped is on the ground floor of newborn careers and will continue to be there throughout a person’s success. Second, Tapped is always on the cutting edge, never reviewing aged or boring artists.

This isn’t to say that Tapped Magazine is a sort of multi-genre American Idol. Unlike that television show, which features armies of under-talented individuals in an endless stream of bad performances, Tapped’s featured artists have been selected by its writers and editors for their talent, skill, and overall charisma.

Tapped is a male-oriented outlet, and that sets the tone for its content: warm and dark color schemes, gorgeous women, and edgy writing. The humor articles are the kind of thing you might hear from a friend in a bar. It’s always sharp and never outmoded. Click the link below to check it out.

UPDATE: Tapped Magazine was discontinued a few years ago, but this review is staying put as both homage and continued commentary.
